"We care because you care"
End of Year Memorial Service
Peter Dodd Funeral Directors would like to take this opportunity to wish all families a quiet and peaceful Christmas and we hope 2021 brings love, peace and happiness to you all.
The End of Year Memorial Service from Sunderland Crematorium offers comfort to those who have lost loved ones this year and an opportunity to reflect on memories and commemorate their lives. It includes readings, reflections and poems led by Cllr Graeme Miller, Leader of Sunderland City Council and Reverend Chris Howson, as well as contributions from Celebrants Chris May and Debbie Green. Anybody watching is encouraged to light a candle as a way of paying tribute to loved ones.

What to Consider in Bereavement
Our website explains what you need to consider and to do in the event of a bereavement.
If the person passes away at home and is an expected death you should first of all contact the family doctor who will call out to certify the death and arrange the death certificate. If death is not expected and for any reason the death certificate cannot be issued the doctor may refer the death to the coroner.
We provide a highly dignified, well presented team that have a wealth of experience of the highest standards of funeral planning.
